NikeLab And Stone Island Collaborate On Third Nike Windrunner
For the past two seasons, NikeLab and Stone Island have collaborated to reimagine the Nike Windrunner. The first, for Vacation 2015, mixed Stone Island’s Nylon Steel fabric on the physique with water and wind-resistant Mussola Gommata fabric on the chevron and hood. The second, for Fall 2016, combined two water and wind-resistant nylons whereas mimicking conventional Nike Windrunner colorblocking. Each drew from Nike and Stone Island’s histories of innovating in sport and materials design.
For the third installment of the collaboration, the design groups continued to prioritize consolation, weather safety and mobility. Made from a custom, dip-dyed rip-stop nylon fabric in three saturated mineral colour options (khaki, olive and obsidian), the jacket has water-resistant coating on the outer fabric, inside wool stone island body armor fleece lining and a detachable, fleece-lined hood. Oversized, shearling-lined zip pockets protect valuables, along with a storm flap that snaps over the front zip for added wind protection. Extra new features embrace stone island body armor a hidden coin sleeve pocket, a removable Stone Island badge and a customized-built zipper with TPU print for grip.
